Born in 1971, Dr. Özgur Öktem graduated from Erciyes University Medical School in 1996. He completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency in 2001, at Marmara University Medical School after which he moved to the USA for continuing his academic carrier and underwent through reproductive endocrinology and infertility postdoctoral fellowship at Reproductive Medicine and Infertility center of Weill Medical College of Cornell University, NY, in 2003-2005. From 2005 to 2008, Dr. Özgur Öktem participated developmental and molecular cancer biology programs as a postdoc, at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, NY. He is the holder of President’s Distinguished prize by SGI (American Society of Gynecologic Investigations) given in 2008, and was awarded in 2013, 2015 and 2016 by the American Society of Reproductive Medicine. Infertility, assisted reproduction techniques, polycystic ovarian syndrome, premature menopause, endoscopic surgery, oocyte/embryo freezing and ovarian tissue cryopreservation in cancer patients, in order to preserve fertility are his main clinical and research areas of interest.
