Vedat Şar M.D.

Born in Istanbul, in 1955, Dr. Vedat Şar graduated from Istanbul University Medical School in 1981 and completed his Psychiatry residency at Hacettepe University in 1986. Between years of 1989 and 2014 he worked as a faculty member of Psychiatry Department at Cerrahpaşa and Istanbul Universities, and Istanbul School of Medicine. He got his Associate Professor and Professor Degrees in Psychiatry field in 1990 and 1996, accordingly. His working experience also includes, working as a visiting doctor at the Department of Psychiatry, at Basel University in 1993-1994 years. In appreciation to Dr. Şar’s scientific studies he has been awarded several times by international societies. He was the President of ISSTD (International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation) and ESTSS (Society for Traumatic Stress Studies). Since 2014, he serves an attending Psychiatrist at Vehbi Koç Healthcare institutions and is a faculty member of Koc University Medical School.
