Work Experience

He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1990. In 1991, he started his cardiology specialization at Istanbul Koşuyolu Heart Hospital. He completed his specialization in the same hospital in 1995 and got the title of Cardiology Associate Professor in 1998. He received the Young Researcher award in 2000. He worked as Clinical Chief at Koşuyolu Heart Hospital at various intervals. In 2005, he was appointed as Professor of the Department of Cardiology at Yeditepe University. In 2008, he was appointed as the chair of the Department of Cardiology. In 2000, he won the European Society of Cardiology Education scholarship award. He worked in Thoraxcenter cardiology department of the Netherlands Erasmus University between 2001-2003 and carried out the first applications in the world of drug-secreting heart stents and in 2003 he received the PhD title at Erasmus University. He served as a board member and assistant secretary general at the Turkish Society of Cardiology. He served as the Founder and President of the Turkish Society of Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology Association between 2010 and 2012. In 2010 was selected as a board member from Turkey to the European Society of Cardiology.
