About Treatment

Brachioplasty (lifting of the skin of the hands) is a surgical method for correcting the inner surface of the hands. Based on the removal of excess skin and adipose tissue. Reduces volume, restores an aesthetically pleasing contour.

Correction is performed by removing excess sagging skin from the inner surface of the forearms. If indicated, brachioplasty is combined with liposuction and lipofilling. The complexity of the operation depends on the characteristics of the defect - the volume of the skin fold. Surgical intervention provides a long-lasting result that does not require re-correction. The skin is tightened, the natural beautiful shape of the hands is restored.

Brachioplasty Technique

The operation is performed under general anesthesia. Surgeon determines the volume of excess skin and applies markings. A special solution with anesthetic and adrenaline is injected into the marked area, facilitating the process of tissue detachment and reducing bleeding.

Brachioplasty is performed using different techniques, depending on the amount of excess tissue:

Transaxillary brachioplasty - performed with small excess skin. Surgeon makes an incision in the armpit. Through the resulting access, it removes excess adipose tissue, pulls the excess skin to the shoulder and sutures. As a result, scars remain virtually invisible.

Extensive brachioplasty - performed with large excess of skin tissue. The surgeon makes an incision from the armpit to the elbow. Peels off a flap of tissue up to the muscle fascia. The skin and fatty tissue are removed, the edges of the incisions are connected, and sutures are applied to the operating wound.

At the end of the operation, a sterile bandage is applied to the suture. Compression sleeves are put on patient's arms. The primary result can be assessed 3-4 weeks after the procedure, the final result is formed in 6-12 months. The result obtained lasts up to 10 years in the absence of provoking factors - weight gain, hormonal imbalance, lack of timely skin care.
