Heidelberg Pediatric Metabolism Center, which is know as an innovative institution in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital metabolic disorders. In the center, blood samples of more than 130,000 newborns from different countries from all over the world are tested each year for rare metabolic diseases and needed treatments are aplied.

Diagnosis and treatment for adult patients are also offered at the center. Highly experienced specialists, as a team, are regularly updating their treatment standards to keep them at the highest international level and are involved in the development of new and successful treatment methods.

Brain tumors and spinal cord tumors removal, treatment of vascular malformations as aneurysms, arterio-venous malformations, cavernous hemangiomas, microsurgical removal of angiomas, cavernous hemangiomas, spinal malformation surgeries, Baclofen therapy, minimally-invasive surgical procedures, operations with neuro-navigation and CT-guided monitoring and many more are succesfully carried out at the center. 

Treatment method  is selected  individually depending on patients' medical conditions. By using special computerized surgical instruments and innovative surgical microscopes, surgeons of the center can handle the most complex cases .
