Diakovere Friederikenstift Hospital Hannover
About Hospital
The hospital has been serving ill, injured or needy people in the heart of Hanover for more than 180 years. Its range of services today includes the most important medical disciplines and specialties.
Its goal is to give you the feeling of being in good hands, even in difficult times, and to receive the best possible care and medical service. Technical competence and security therefore have the highest priority. In addition, we always keep in mind that the human component is an essential part of recovery.
In order to guarantee the highest medical quality at all times, it works in an interdisciplinary and interprofessional manner, networked with highly specialized service providers and maintain close cooperation with medical specialists and institutions in the Hanover region.
In the DIAKOVERE Friederikenstift, surgical diagnostics and operative care are carried out in close cooperation with the anesthesiological, medical and radiological clinic and the referring doctors. The treatment is based on the most modern medical knowledge and guidelines, using minimally invasive surgical procedures that are as gentle as possible. Careful individual preparation for surgery and aftercare from a single source, together with caring inpatient care, facilitate rapid professional and domestic reintegration.

Neurosurgery comprises the diagnosis and surgical treatment of diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system. The services includes spinal surgery, head surgery, peripheral nerve surgery and interventional pain therapy. The neurosurgery clinic has 40 beds and is managed by the specialists in neurosurgery from the group practice for neurosurgery .
The patients in the practice are looked after individually by the neurosurgeon of their choice. This initiates the diagnosis, plans the necessary therapy with the patient and then, if desired, carries it out personally.
Whether therapy should be carried out under outpatient, short-term inpatient or fully inpatient conditions is a question of the risk and complexity of the intervention and is decided solely on the basis of medical criteria. Should an inpatient therapy measure be necessary, this, as well as the subsequent postoperative care, is carried out by the neurosurgeon whom the patient already knows from his practice.
The Clinic for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery has a special rating: With around 20,000 first treatments after acute injuries, around 8,000 inpatients and its 230 beds (130 acute beds, 100 beds in inpatient rehab), is one of the largest trauma surgery clinics in Germany.
In the DIAKOVERE Friederikenstift, over 4500 doctor cases are treated annually in our professional association consultation hours and emergency department. These include ~ 160 cases that are subject to the injury type procedure and ~ 80 cases that are subject to the severely injured type procedure.
The concept of the specialist teams ensures a high degree of specialization so that the patients receive optimal care from a trauma surgeon / orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the relevant field. The doctors from the Surgical Traumatology Center are regularly invited to national and international congresses as speakers.
To stabilize bone fractures, all recognized methods are applied in a differentiated manner and individually tailored to patients.
In the center for internal medicine of the DIAKOVERE Friederikenstift, patients with diseases of the internal organs are treated.
Its spectrum includes emergency care, internal intensive care medicine and the entire field of internal medicine with acute and chronic diseases. Thanks to the most modern equipment, it has extensive diagnostic options and treatment methods.
The Internal Medicine Center has seven focal points and departments are technically independent.
