Serdar Tezelman, M.D., F.A.C.S. was born in Istanbul in 1956. He graduated from İstanbul University, Cerrahpaşa School of Medicine after his education at Sankt Georg Austrian High School. Dr. Tezelman completed his residency at the Istanbul University, Istanbul School of Medicine, Department of General Surgery in 1986. After his military service at Gumussuyu Military Hospital, he worked as Vice Director of Emergency Department of Istanbul Municipality. He started working as lecturer to Istanbul University School of Medicine in the Major field of General Surgery in 1988. Dr. Tezelman did his ‘Postdoctoral Fellowship in Endocrine Surgery’ at University of California San Francisco (UCSF), Mount Zion Medical Center under mentorship of Prof. Dr. Orlo H. Clark between 1992 and 1994. He became a fellow (FACS) of American College of Surgeon in 1995 and a founder as well as board member of Division Endocrine Surgery of ESES in 2003. He obtained his Associate Professorship of General Surgery at Istanbul University School of Medicine, Department of General Surgery in 1991 and professorship of General Surgery in the same Department in 1996. After his retirement from İstanbul university School of Medicine, Department of General Surgery in 2011 he started working as clinical faculty member at Koc University School of Medicine since 2012. Dr. Tezelman has been working as an attending surgeon in endocrine surgery unit at V.K.V. American Hospital since 2009.
